What to Expect in a Body De-Armouring Session
Your body carries stories — some you remember, and some that live deep in your tissues, breath, and nervous system. Body de-armouring is a powerful modality that invites these stories to surface, be felt, and be released — gently, consciously, and safely.
If you're curious about this work but unsure what to expect, this guide is for you.
🌀 What Is Body De-Armouring?
Body de-armouring is a somatic healing practice that uses conscious, intentional touch to soften physical and energetic "armour" — the protective layers we develop to cope with stress, trauma, and emotional overwhelm.
This armour can show up as:
Chronic tension or tightness
Numbness or disconnection
Unexplained pain or emotional shutdown
Difficulty accessing pleasure, joy, or vulnerability
By working directly with the body, we invite these areas to soften, open, and release — creating space for more aliveness, authenticity, and embodiment.
🤲 What Happens During a Session?
Each session is a unique journey, guided by your body's wisdom and readiness. Here's a general flow:
1. Welcoming & Intention Setting
We begin with a gentle conversation to connect, ground, and understand your needs. You’re invited to share anything that feels important — physically, emotionally, or energetically. We’ll also discuss boundaries, consent, and what your body might be holding.
2. Somatic Drop-In
Before any touch, we guide you into your body. This might include breathwork, subtle movement, or simply creating space to notice sensation. This helps you land in the moment and start to build trust with your system.
3. Conscious Touch & Bodywork
Using gentle yet intentional touch, I work with areas of tension, numbness, or armour. This may include slow pressure, vibration, or still holding. Some moments might feel intense — emotionally or physically — but nothing is ever forced. Your "no" is always respected.
Release can come in many forms: tears, tremors, laughter, breath, or silence. Everything is welcome.
4. Sound Healing Integration
To complete the session, we transition into a final phase of deep integration through sound. I use Tibetan singing bowls attuned to the 639 Hz frequency — known for its heart-opening and harmonizing effects — alongside a melodic bell-like instrument called Ishi, whose ethereal tones support emotional release and energetic realignment.
The gentle waves of sound ripple through your body, creating a subtle yet profound resonance. This soundscape invites your nervous system to settle and can naturally guide you into altered states of consciousness, where deeper healing, insight, and connection can occur.
It's a moment of stillness and surrender. A space to simply be.
5. Integration & Aftercare
We end with space to rest, reflect, and gently come back. I may offer grounding techniques or suggestions for post-session care. Integration is just as important as the release itself.
🌿 Is It Right for You?
De-armouring is for anyone ready to deepen their relationship with their body. You don’t need to be “traumatized enough” — you just need curiosity, openness, and a desire to come home to yourself.
This work is especially supportive if you:
Feel emotionally stuck or disconnected from your body
Experience chronic tension or pain
Have a history of emotional or sexual trauma
Struggle with intimacy or vulnerability
Long for more embodiment, pleasure, or presence
Your body holds wisdom beyond what the mind can explain.
In de-armouring, we don’t force healing — we listen, soften, and allow.
It’s a journey of coming back to the parts of yourself you had to protect… and remembering that you are safe now.
